Dr. Kimberly Tran
Dr. Tran believes that one of the most important aspects of being a pediatric dentist is successfully building long-term, positive relationships with all of her patients and parents. She knows that making a true connection with each child she treats, along with their families, is the key to providing personalized clinical care as well as a comfortable experience. Dr. Tran understands that oral health extends far beyond the teeth and gums—it's a critical gateway to overall wellness.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Pediatric Dentist?
Dr. Tran wanted to become a pediatric dentist to transform children's dental experiences by addressing their fears and creating a compassionate, supportive environment. She understands that early healthcare interactions can fundamentally shape a patient's lifelong approach to wellness. Through trust-building, age-appropriate education, and empathetic care, she empowers her patients to become proactive advocates for their own oral health.
Dental Education & Formal Training
Dr. Tran's academic journey began at James Madison University, where she laid the foundation for her future in healthcare. This was followed by her completing her dental education at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Campus. Knowing she loved working with children and enhancing their lives through oral healthcare, she decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She completed her residency training at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami.
Dr. Tran went on to serve as President of the Virginia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, providing guidance and support for her professional colleagues, and by extension, countless patients.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Spending quality time with loved ones has always been very important to Dr. Tran, as she grew up in a family with five children! When she married her husband, Vu, they wanted to begin their lives together with an experience they would never forget. Together they took a year off and traveled the world for an extended, international honeymoon. Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Tran maintains a vibrant and dynamic lifestyle, embracing new adventures and cherishing active experiences. On any given day that she has free time, you can find her hiking, trying new restaurants, practicing Bikram/barre, or planning their next adventure.
